Upshifter of the Week, Phil D!

We are proud to announce that our Upshifter of the Week is Phil D. from Columbus.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I come from the software sales industry, but decided to make a change and am going back to school while also raising my granddaughter. I found Upshift after searching for something that could accommodate both of those limitations in my schedule and have been surprised at how well it works and how much I enjoy it.

How has it been working on Upshift?

From onboarding to working shifts, it’s honestly been terrific. Before Upshift, I tried signing up for DoorDash and that experience was a total mess, but everything here has been smooth with no issues. The flexibility allows me to find work I enjoy that doesn’t interfere with my schedule. They’ve also recently added many useful features to the app.

What do you like most about Upshift?

There are three things – the flexibility, the people, and the variety. The flexibility and availability of work has allowed me to continue to work around my other responsibilities in a way that no other job could. In terms of people, I’ve been incredibly and pleasantly surprised by the Upshifters I get to work with. Everyone has been so intelligent, kind, and hard working. The social aspect of the work has been really enjoyable. Last, the variety of work has been a blessing. I’m someone who gets bored easily, but the range of positions and businesses offered allows me to keep it interesting. I’ve been a server, bartender, cashier, grill cook, barista, worked in warehouses.. the list goes on!
